“Fixer” is a Mindset Block

Have you noticed…
… the way you’ve become the hero?

You jump to the best fix because that’s who you are. The problem-solver. Put-outer of fires. Master of creating order.

People come to you with a look of wonder. How do you do all that you do?

That’s who you are - responsible, capable, and bold woman. Fix it gal! <insert superhero entrance song here>

…But there’s this other thing…

There is a gap between the problem presented to you and the solution you create.

Perhaps the gap is:
- Resentment - they aren’t carrying their weight
- Fear - that you might not be able to perform this time
- Annoyance - it takes too much time to train than to just get it done
- Guilt - that you were wrong in some way that created the issue

But in a split second you leap over that gap and jump to fix it mode. (And get the gambler’s lotto winning high... Let’s be real, that feels so good). But then it’s gone. And you’re left with an icky residue.

______________
ALL OF THIS.
This pattern.

Problem -> Fix it gal leaps in -> gambler’s high -> problem solved -> icky residue -> repeat.

At what cost to you?
- Your energy?
- Your time?
- Your personal peace?
- Your joy?

My dear, is it worth it?

“Fix it gal” is a strategy you’ve honed well in life. Gosh! It’s gotten you exactly here - in your achievement, to your income, with your clients. It’s really remarkable.

But it has shifted on you & “Fix it Gal” now leaves you feeling like a pushover, unhappy, and lacking that spark in your eye, overworked, tired, rushing around feeling chaotic.

What if you allowed yourself to not be “Fix it Gal”? What more is possible when you empower your team or family to solve more of their own problems sans you? What more is possible for them?

YES!
Resounding yes.

Here’s how:
Step 1: Notice when you are leaping over your emotional response to a situation.
Step 2: Pause at the gap.
Step 3: Acknowledge the emotion & what it represents.
Step 4: Make a different choice.
———

It is simple

& it is a lifelong practice of slowing down & showing up for yourself.

In your corner when you’re ready to give “Fix it Gal” the backseat.
